Just a note to those of you attending the indoor training at Forest this winter; although we are sure you already know, the clocks are changing this weekend. Please don’t turn up to training an hour early … we won’t be there! Also – just to be absolutely clear we are running sessions every other weekend, not every weekend. Thanks!
Unfortunately the Under 13’s HCC Girls side were defeated by 47 runs in their league final game. More details to follow shortly.
This winter we will be offering a series of indoor training sessions in two groups.
The first group is for all players under the age of 8 years and the second group is for all those players over 8 years of age. Although we offer a choice of groups please feel free to contact us if you would like some guidance as to which group your player should attend.
The sessions will run at Forest School in Horsham and will take place on Sunday mornings.
The provisional dates for these sessions are as follows: October 11th & 25th, November 8th & 22nd, December 6th and 20th, January 3rd, 17th and 31st, February 14th and 28th, March 14th and 28th.
The sessions before Christmas will be 90 minutes long and are as follows:
Under 8’s 9.00am – 10.30am, 8 Years + 10.30am – 12 Noon.
After Christmas it is likely that the sessions will be 60 minutes and run from 9.00am – 10.00am and 10.00am to 11.00am accordingly. This will be confirmed as soon as we have confirmation from the Council.
The cost of the 13 sessions will be £50.00 (inc VAT). We look forward to seeing you all there!
Due to the invasion of Sussex to Horsham this week we have arranged for an alternative location for training. The session will start at 6pm and will take place on Mannings Heath village green (Nuthurst have kindly allowed us to utilise their facilities).
Horsham Under 13 Girls suffered their first league defeat of the season with a poor performance against Findon. Findon batted first making 301 and profited hugely from the extras donated by Horsham who notched up 40 in wides and no balls! Only three wickets were taken further underlining a below par performance in the field. When Horsham batted Hope Laker got them off to a fine start with a several successful demonstrations of the reverse sweep. Hannah Cousins contributed 21 including a six but Horsham lost too many silly wickets in the pursuit of runs and left the last pair a near impossible task eventually finishing 27 runs short on 274.
Unfortunately the Pulborough match scheduled for Tuesday 28th July has been postponed to Friday 7th August at 5pm. Could those originally selected let me know if they can still play on the new date.
